The research activities of this group focus on the physical, electrical, and dielectric properties of inorganic and composite materials. We investigate conduction, polarization, and relaxation mechanisms in dielectric ceramics, crystals, and glasses as a function of temperature and frequency. The objective is to develop new insulating, piezoelectric, and ionic-conducting materials for applications in electronics, sensing technologies, and energy-storage devices.
Our electrical characterizations rely on complex impedance spectroscopy over a wide range of temperatures. We also investigate the correlations between crystal structure, lattice defects, and the overall electrical performance of the developed materials. This research is conducted in close synergy with locally available geomaterials to develop low-cost and environmentally friendly dielectric solutions.
